
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and compliance-driven Responsible Person Aircraft (RPA) | Part 135.
This role is accountable for ensuring the continuous airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness of all aircraft under the company’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The successful candidate will play a critical leadership role in maintaining safety standards, managing maintenance oversight, and ensuring full compliance with Part 135 regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all aircraft are maintained in a fully airworthy condition in line with Part 135 operational requirements,
Oversee and enforce compliance with all applicable aviation regulations, including SACAA and Part 135 AOC standards,
Manage and approve all maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer and approved maintenance programs.
Ensure strict adherence to Part 135 maintenance control systems and procedures,
Conduct audits, inspections, and quality checks on aircraft and maintenance operations.
Authorise maintenance work and ensure all repairs and modifications meet regulatory and OEM standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date aircraft records, logbooks, and maintenance documentation as required under Part 135.
Develop, review, and amend maintenance control manuals, AMP, and MEL documentation in line with AOC requirements.
Coordinate and manage third-party AMOs and maintenance providers supporting Part 135 operations.
Monitor aircraft downtime and maintenance scheduling to support charter operational efficiency.
Liaise directly with SACAA, manufacturers, and service providers on compliance and technical matters.
Ensure all maintenance personnel meet Part 135 competency and certification requirements.
Provide leadership and oversight to maintenance and CAMO teams.
Report on aircraft airworthiness status and operational readiness to senior management
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License (Part 66) OR
Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Avionics Engineering
Experience
Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in the aviation industry
At least 2+ years in a senior or management role (e.g. Quality Manager / Maintenance Manager / RPA)
Proven experience within a Part 135 AOC environment (non-negotiable)
Direct experience working with SACAA on audits, approvals, and compliance
Strong background in aircraft maintenance oversight and regulatory compliance
Technical & Regulatory
In-depth knowledge of:
Part 135 regulations and AOC requirements
Aircraft maintenance systems and procedures
Airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and OEM standards
Experience with maintenance tracking systems (e.g. CAMP, Traxxall, AvDex)
Strong understanding of CAMO and AMO environments supporting charter operations
